Permanent Facilities Database
The Permanent Equipment Database (PED) is drawn up by the INSEE annually, with as date of reference January 1st since 2007. Based on various different information sources which are updated annually, this database lists a wide range of facilities and services provided to the public. The PED covers the fields of services, marketable or otherwise, commerce, healthcare and social action, education, tourism, sport and leisure activities. Precise geographical information on facilities and population, by municipality and via the system of areas grouped together for statistical purposes, allows for the calculation of distances (e.g. between municipalities with a certain facilities and others without), the study of the spatial concentration of facilities, and allows us to connect facilities with their potential users.
