Advanced Product Quality Planning
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is a segment of the QS-9000 process developed by the AIAG and used by the auto industry. It provides a quality framework to understand customer needs and determine all the actions with product and process design to assure that the production process can deliver products that satisfy those needs. This framework includes tools such as quality function deployment to understand customer needs and translate them into product and process characteristics, product and process design validation and verification, failure modes and effects analysis to counter or control potential failure, and control plans to insure critical product characteristics are achieved.
