Parametric amplification
Parametric amplification a nonlinear optical process in which a signal wave of frequency ωs and a higher-frequency pump wave of frequency ωp propagate through a second-order nonlinear optical material, leading to the amplification of the signal wave and the generation of an idler wave of frequency ωp − ωs .
