Non-tradeables
Non-tradeables: goods and services that are not, or only rarely, traded internationally because they are abundant and cheap everywhere or because the cost of support services needed for trading them would exceed the value of the product in the importing market. A list of non-tradeables would change considerably over the years and probably become shorter. Two examples will suffice. Sand and gravel, until recently quarried locally and considered non-tradeable, have become tradeable for a range of reasons, including more stringent environmental measures governing their extraction.
